Blurred Vision DiabetesBlurred vision diabetes side-effects are caused by high or changing blood sugar (glucose) levels that have the potential to cause more serious and potentially permanent eye damage, one of which and the most serious is diabetic retinopathy. This is the result of the blood vessels in the retina being damaged because of extended periods of high blood sugar.

Seek Medical Advice for Blurred Vision Diabetes:

People that are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes will be very surprised at how high blood sugar will affect the body from your feet, heart, skin, blood vessels, kidneys, nerves and your eyes. With type 2 diabetes, blurred vision is a very common side-effect and should be taken as a warning,

if you have not been diagnosed to have your blood sugar (glucose) level checked. A person with type 2 diabetes is not only at risk for blurred vision or other vision problems, but there is also a chance of blindness.

Blurred Vision DiabetesThe blurred vision you might get from type 2 diabetes is usually caused by something minor, however there is a very good chance, if it is not monitored or taken care of, for contracting much more serious vision problems such as cataracts, glaucoma and retinopathy.

It is highly recommended in order to save your sight and receive ongoing treatment to consult with and regularly visit an eye specialist that is well versed in type 2 diabetic vision diseases.

It is a frightening statistic, and one that should be taken very seriously, if you have type 2 diabetes and that is that you have a 40 percent greater chance of developing glaucoma within your lifetime.

The increased pressure in the eyeball caused by glaucoma puts increased pressure on the blood vessels, the optic nerve and the retina, and thus causes the blurred vision and potential vision loss.

Different reasons why you may have blurred vision diabetes:

Another thing that you should be aware of is that you have a 60 percent greater chance of developing cataracts, if you have type 2 diabetes. Cataracts are the clouding over of the clear lens of the eye.

This cloudiness will result in blurred vision, halos and glare. The good news here is that there is the possibility of transplanting an artificial lens into the eye and restoring your sight.

If you have been diagnosed with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes you have the unfortunate knowledge that in all probability you will eventually contract retinopathy which will be the cause of your blurred vision. Retinopathy causes damage to the blood vessels in the eyes, at first you might not even notice that you have this disease, but eventually it can lead to blindness.

As a rule, you will notice blurred vision from type 2 diabetes or the blurred vision diabetes side-effect might be the warning sign that you need to have yourself checked, and then, if necessary, properly treated.
