By restoring the glucose hormones, researchers believe they are very close to a Type 1 diabetes cure. Type 1 diabetes cured could change our planet. Insulin has been used to treat Type 1 diabetes since 1922 but the insulin alone is not capable of restoring the damaged or malfunctioning hormones which are believed to be the root of the problem.
With this being said, recent findings suggest that the elimination of glucagon action actually has the ability to restore your glucose hormones to normal functionality. For the average person, glucagon is released into your system when your blood sugar levels are low. But for Type 1 diabetes patients, glucagon is released at a faster rate than normal because it is actually working against the insulin treatment being administered.
