Wilford Brimley DiabetesYou may not know the name Wilford Brimley but you have likely seen this American actor on television promoting awareness for diabetes. As an actor, he appeared in films including Cocoon, The Firm and The Thing to name a few. His is one of the most powerful diabetes stories in Hollywood.

Mr. Brimley definitely made his face recognized from his Quaker Oats commercials and Liberty Medical. Liberty Medical is a company which provides diabetes medications and supplies and sends them directly to your home. Wilford Brimley has been their spokesperson for decades, since he himself was diagnosed with diabetes.

He was actually honored by the American Diabetes Association in 2008 for his lifetime of dedication and service. Aside from his Liberty Medical commercials that we all know him from Mr. Brimley visited veteran hospitals as well to help educate the patients on how to live with diabetes.

If you yourself have been diagnosed with diabetes than you likely know the feeling of confusion and despair but life can go on with diabetes and Mr. Brimley has worked hard to make this message known.

As you can imagine, Wilford Brimley experienced the same symptoms as many when they begin to acknowledge that diabetes may be on their doorstep. This American actor began to notice symptoms related to weight gain.
